Professional Trainings and Workshops
There are a variety of professional trainings, workshops, and courses that are offered in the Early Childhood field that are fantastic ways to educate yourself outside of college.
Child Development Associates (CDA)
CDA stands for “Child Development Associate,” and is a credential you can earn by completing a certain number of CDA approved trainings and hours of work experience. This credential is the only Nationally recognized one in this field, so that’s why it’s a very common staff requirement at Head Start programs. You can also apply for one on your own even if you’re not affiliated with Head Start. Getting a CDA is one pathway to becoming Lead Teacher qualified in Colorado.
