The Early Childhood Council of La Plata County has two mental health specialists on staff to serve the kids in Archuleta, La Plata and San Juan Counties. Sarah Kahn and Amy Aweida are both licensed professional counselors who offer support services to childcare centers, preschools and home care providers. Including but not limited to, staff relationships, observing classrooms and children, and identifying appropriate interventions to support both staff and children.
